Some highlights (October 2006 to January 2007):
- Survived writing my first Novel in a month (NaNoWriMo)
- Admitted a dependancy
- Set Gimili (the dwarf) and Elrond (half-elven) debating marriage vs. cohabitation (direct quote from Lord of the Rings)
- Discovered after nearly a year why I’m so attracted to blogging
- Attempted to articulate why a dog would enrich my life enough to be worth the extra work
- Learned some new questions to ask
- Dwelt-on (laughed at, agreed with) other people’s thoughts
- Considered some new ideas
- Began to explain myself to the preschooling environment I live in
- Articulated what I’m learning about my craft and how I relate to it
Hi, Amy – I’ve enjoyed looking through your posts…I know exactly what you mean about the difficulty of writing with the kids running around!
I guess I’ve never really specified the subject of my novel on the blog – really because my difficulty right now is summing it up! I’m almost finished with my first draft…I sort of edit as I go along, so it’s a slow process. It’s basically literary fiction – it’s told in the alternating voices of four characters, and is about family relationships…it deals with coming to terms with past mistakes, the need to forgive, and death…my problem with trying to figure out a synopsis is that I have four storylines that eventually merge. That’s difficult to put into a one page summary!
Anyway – good luck with your book…I guess we just have to keep up the two minute snippets of writing time we get and eventually we’ll get it all done. I, um, hope. :)

Neat! I wrote a novel for NaNoWriMo too! I had a blast but I haven’t even looked at my very, very rough draft sense the end of November…I think I’m afraid! lol!!
Ah … you were braver than I doing NaNoWriMo. I gave it a brief thought, but decided NaBloPoMo was enough of a challenge upon entering my 2nd month in the Blogosphere. Keeping up with daily posts on two blogs kept me busy enough. Maybe NEXT year I’ll give NaNoWriMo a try. The frustrating thing about being a “newbie” is that there’s just not enough time to “catch up on all I’ve missed” … but I do what I can and that has to be good enough. Right now … Molly wants breakfast, so I’m leaving … though I’d like to linger and browse a bit more.
