  1. Hi, Amy – I’ve enjoyed looking through your posts…I know exactly what you mean about the difficulty of writing with the kids running around!
I guess I’ve never really specified the subject of my novel on the blog – really because my difficulty right now is summing it up! I’m almost finished with my first draft…I sort of edit as I go along, so it’s a slow process. It’s basically literary fiction – it’s told in the alternating voices of four characters, and is about family relationships…it deals with coming to terms with past mistakes, the need to forgive, and death…my problem with trying to figure out a synopsis is that I have four storylines that eventually merge. That’s difficult to put into a one page summary!
Anyway – good luck with your book…I guess we just have to keep up the two minute snippets of writing time we get and eventually we’ll get it all done. I, um, hope. :)
I’m glad you randomly found my blog – I’ll be back to read more of yours! ~Christie

  2. That’s a good idea, I don’t know that I’ve articulated to myself about what I’ve learned.

I’m impressed you did the novel in a month thing!

  3. Hi Amy – thanks for stopping by yesterday, and for the encouragement. I think my favorite thing abotu this party is getting to hear from new friends – there’s so much wisdom out there to share! You have a beautiful blog – congratulations on one year.

Oh…I’ve been meaning to pick up Orthodoxy for over a year now. Thanks for the reminder!

  4. Neat! I wrote a novel for NaNoWriMo too! I had a blast but I haven’t even looked at my very, very rough draft sense the end of November…I think I’m afraid! lol!!

  5. Ah … you were braver than I doing NaNoWriMo. I gave it a brief thought, but decided NaBloPoMo was enough of a challenge upon entering my 2nd month in the Blogosphere. Keeping up with daily posts on two blogs kept me busy enough. Maybe NEXT year I’ll give NaNoWriMo a try. The frustrating thing about being a “newbie” is that there’s just not enough time to “catch up on all I’ve missed” … but I do what I can and that has to be good enough. Right now … Molly wants breakfast, so I’m leaving … though I’d like to linger and browse a bit more.
    Hugs and blessings,
